At the Kamolliddin Behzod Eastern miniature art museum, masterly potter Bahtiyor Nazirov’s exhibition has opened

F.Toshmuhamedov, deputy chairman of the Art Academy of Uzbekistan; G.Karshiyeva, the director of the Kamolliddin Behzod Eastern miniature art museum; academician A.Rahimov; and others have said that special care and attention being given to craftsmanship in this country is an important factor in their artistic endeavour and work.
Uzbek people have been engaged in pottery since ancient times. Today there are this craft’s Farghona, Bukhara, Samarqand, Khorazm and Tashkent schools. These schools continue ancient traditions and use modern methods as well.
Potter Bahtiyor Nazirov is a representative of the Rishton school of pottery. Products created by potters of this school are unique for their coral and light blue colours. Bahtiyor Nazirov learned these traditions from his brother Alisher Nazirov. He uses ancient methods and also makes new creative approaches to his work. He creates beautiful works of art out of clay.
At the exhibition, such objects made of clay as plates, dishes, saucers and pots are on display.
Bahtiyor Nazirov says that he uses natural colours of plant origin. He actively participates in various contests here in this country and abroad. His dream is to continue his ancestors’ traditions of craftsmanship and to increase the number of his apprentices.
“It takes patience and attention to detail to learn the craft of pottery. Bahtiyor Nazirov learned this craft with patience and perseverance. Objects of clay that are on display at the exhibition are results of his tireless work and endeavour,†says masterly potter Muzaffar Saidov.
